Swimmers of the Month December 2024
As 2024 comes crashing to a finish (it’s shrieking and howling out tonight) I’d like to congratulate our December Swimmers of the Month.
1 Kylie Brown - comes regularly to practice, which is the first step towards excellence; showing up. Focuses on the task at hand; that’s the second step. Consistently showing up and doing the work is what gets to where you want to go.
1.5 Ben Pohl - attended his very first swim meet in Kitimat, where he finished a very respectable 5th in both the 50 Back (under a minute) and 100 Free (under 2 minutes). Ben has been very focused on improving his technique lately, and it’s beginning to show.
2 Emily McDonald - a very dedicated young swimmer, who amongst all her recent best times and a silver medal also managed to achieve her first A time in the 50 Free!
3 Bianca Marogna - another dedicated young swimmer who went 6 for 6 best times, acquired some more A times and is perilously close to achieving her first Divisional time.
456 Tess Edwards - a long time Rapid, Tess has had a recent turnaround in her training habits, and this newfound commitment is paying off with some breakthrough swims. She too went 6 for 6 best times and nailed a new Div time. Consistency is vital to improving technique, which translates into speed.
