Swimmers who have been invited to move to Class 3 have successfully satisfied the skills for advancement into competition.
Swimmers who have the ability to race a 100 IM, 200 fr, 100 bk, 50 br, and a 25 fly will be considered to join this level. These are our next generation of great students and swimmers!
Swimmers commit to a minimum of 3 water sessions per week but have the option of swimming up to 4 x per week (upon invitation of the Coach).
Competition is an expectation for the swimmers at this level.
Swimmers are striving to perform on the Regional level and are working towards their first time standards.
Swimmers will refine the 4 Swimming strokes along with solidifying each stroke specific rules:
- Freestyle
- Backstroke
- Breaststroke
- Butterfly
Focus for this level is mastering the basics of floatation and body position. Propulsion with the legs ie "kick" is also a major component of this level of Swimming. The rules for each of the Strokes in the Sport of Swimming are reinforced and swimmers will work to expand their endurance with an eye towards improving their Swimming for competition.
Participation in Northern Regional competition is expected for all participants
