Swimmers of the Month -   May 2025

June 3, 2025

1 Stephanie Coetzee - Newly moved up from Minis to Class 1, Stephanie has already attended her first Regional Meet in Prince Rupert and will shortly be swimming in her second in Terrace. She’s a focused swimmer who listens well and tries very hard.

1.5 Qier DeLima - has been with the club for a couple years now, and had a VERY successful Best Time meet, swimming personal bests in all of her repeat races,  successfully completing all four 50’s and no DQ’s, not even in the 100 IM! (IYKYK). She was away last week, so 🏊🏻‍♀️

2 Kosti Shapovalov - he’s swam with the club for a couple years now, and although sometimes his attendance is spotty he has really made an effort throughout this season to improve. After some frustrating DQ’s at the Rupert meet in October, Kosti put his mind to learning the rules of the strokes, and how to do proper turns and starts. And it paid off; at the Best Time meet in May Kosti not only achieved his very first A time, he also managed no DQ’s AND a Divisional time (and then immediately aged up)

3 Naveen Gautam - has been with the Rapids for a few years now, and is a strong swimmer. He’s been dominating the 10 & Under boys for a while now, and had a good May meet, tieing for the gold for most time off with 5 of 7 best times.

456 Hadley Seier went 7 for 7 best times, and collected a whole armful of Divisional times at the Best Time meet, as well as a silver medal. She has made massive strides this season, getting stronger in every stroke, as well as being arguably the most consistent at attendance out of the entire club.
