Swimmers of the Month -  November 2025

December 5, 2025

1 Amyra Bains joined the Rapids this year, and has been making steady progress. She displays all the traits of a good athlete; she’s persistent, coachable, and consistent.

1.5 Sophia Pohl recently moved up from Class 1 and has begun competing at regional meets. She is very consistent with her attendance, and has been increasing her repertoire of skills with an admirable amount of single minded dedication even when those skills are very challenging.

2 Jayden Daigle - I think this is “girl Jayden’s” year (we have a lot of Jaydens in the Rapids this year and coaches are notoriously non creative with nicknames). She has improved phenomenally since the beginning of the season, dropping scads of time at both the Rupert and PG meets. She focuses really hard to make the changes her coach asks her to, and even better remembers to KEEP working at making those changes. Can’t wait to see what she’s going to accomplish next.

3 Elijah Kroeker-Wilson finally made his first Divisional qualifying time! Woohoo! He has worked SO HARD for the last couple of years for this achievement. (He also picked up a couple more A times in PG.) I guess coach Chris is right with his theory that the first A time is a tipping point, and once you’ve hit it the Div times aren’t long in coming. Congratulations, Elijah. I’m sorry I wasn’t there to see it, but hopefully I’ll get to see him achieve his first AA time.

456 Jayden Petrulac is also making great strides this year. Moving up to Class 4 is very challenging; the training expectations jump way up, both physically and mentally, but Jayden has been surviving, and is even starting to thrive (some practices, anyway). His swimming has been pretty fast for a while, but “boy Jayden” is finally starting to refine his technique and pick up some of those more subtle skills that really make a difference in your racing speed as you get older…like pushing off the wall in an actual streamline haha.
